The Sinai team has agreed to meet for a bargaining session tomorrow (Sunday 12/17) at 11:30 am. As we prepare to move into the third week of our strike, we hope to achieve substantial progress towards a fair agreement.
We are very proud of the participation by postdocs and community support at our picket line throughout the first ten days of our strike, and we have seen our power reflected in widespread support by federal, state, and city representatives, and new media coverage (here’s some from yesterday by the NYC Central Labor Council and Gabriel DeSanti). In case we do not see progress tomorrow at the bargaining table, we are prepared to increase our efforts to reach a fair agreement next week. We will send an updated strike schedule soon.
Please sign up for picketing shifts here – In order to qualify for strike benefits you must participate in the equivalent of 20 hours of strike duty per week (e.g. five 4-hour shifts on the picket line or other activity that supports the strike.)
