RSVP for an informational Postdoc Union Town Hall!

Last week we filed for our union election with support from an overwhelming 80% of postdocs at Mount Sinai. We also delivered an open letter to Dean Charney signed by nearly one hundred of us, asking the administration to remain neutral and meet with us to discuss a fair and efficient process for moving towards bargaining.

We will be holding an informational Postdoc Union Town Hall next Thursday, May 26th at 5pm, in Annenberg Room A5-205. Join us to meet with other Postdocs, hear from unionized researchers at other institutions, and get answers to any questions you may have about forming a union for postdocs at Mount Sinai. Click here to let us know if you can make it.

We’re also excited to kick off the summer with a joint picnic alongside our unionized postdoctoral colleagues at Columbia University, UAW Local 4100, on Saturday, May 28 at 12pm in the East meadow of Central Park (Entrance near E 97th St and 5th Ave). This will be a great opportunity to connect with other researchers city-wide and ask questions. Please feel free to bring food and drinks, and let us know if you can make it.

Also, check out this video message to Mount Sinai postdocs from Melissa McKenzie Campbell, vice president of the Columbia Postdoc Union, UAW Local 4100.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns,

Best,
Pooja Viswanathan, Neuroscience
